Canterbury Rally 2024

The 2024 edition of Canterbury Rally which will take place on Sunday 2nd June on King’s Birthday weekend

The rally will be run in the Ashley and Okuku Forests plus the final stage at Ruapuna circuit

The rally comprises of approximately 140 kms of special stages and 137kms of touring.

With the 2024 edition of the Silver Fern Rally utilizing the public roads later in the year we have an all forest stage edition for Lonestar Rally of Canterbury 2024

Starting from Joes Garage in Rangiora SS1 and SS2 form the first loop before heading to the first of 3 services at the single service park making it a easy setup for the service crews this year, the service park will be just below the Okuku Forsest at Protranz Limeworks Quarry Whiterock.

SS1 is the Mt Grey road Uphill to wake everyone up ranked the 16th best Stage in NZ by the NZRC a few years ago and we get to run it in both directions this year.

After service 2 loops through the Okuku forest with SS3 and SS4 then a service and a second run though in the same direction giving drivers a second chance to sort the stage out

After another service the final forest stage loop with a SS7 a repeat of SS2 in reverse and the final stage, SS8, a run on Mt Grey Downhill.

Then as become very popular with rally’s of late a final tarmac Spectator friendly stage with several laps of Ruapuna before heading into town at Lonestar Manchester street for the Finish at approx 5pm

When at the spectator points please stay out of the RED NO GO zones(as per picture) for your own safety at spectator points.

Directions from Waimak Bridge to Spectator SS1 & SS8 points, the Ashley forest Sprint road viewing spots

Spectator point for SS4 and SS6 in the Okuku Forest.

Directions from Waimak Bridge to start of Okuku Pass Road to Spectator SS4 & SS6 point. Ensure you allow about 15-20mins from the start of the Okuku Pass Road to the spectator point into the forest(route in yellow) on forest gravel roads so you don’t have to rush.

Euromarque Motorsport Park Ruapuna SS9 Spectator Stage – First car approx 4pm

Autosport Car club, Canterbury Car Club and Euromarque Motorsport Park are absolutely delighted to be supporting The Cancer Society of New Zealand at this spectator friendly stage and all proceeds from the entry fee for spectators of $5 per person, capped at $10 per car, will go directly to the Cancer Society.

As what has become a hugely popular finish to rallies recently the last stage SS9 of the Lonestar Rally of Canterbury 2024 will be a tarmac stage at Euromarque Motorsport Park for a blast of several laps around the track to finish the day.

The final stage of the rally, SS9, for the rally competitors will be a almost 4 lap blast of the Grand prix Circuit including the infamous Dipper

The Cancer Society will have volunteers at the track collecting the entry fee at the gate and will be around with donation buckets amongst the spectators.

Euromarque Motorsport Park has plenty of spectator spots and easy access to see the cars up close and personal, with spectator spots shown in yellow and pits in purple

It will be end of the day and there will be Rally cars and service vans coming in and out of the park so please be careful and watch car and van movements, especially with children.
