With 9 km of smooth gravel, three bridges, some fast straights and several high speed blind brows, Auchenflower Rd provides a real challenge for drivers and cars. One of our longer sprints, Auchenflower Rd is a favourite for many of our local drivers who have driven it many times over the years. Situated just south of Sheffield, Canterbury it’s a wicked road with one of the fastest sections in our sprint series.
A massive 54 cars and drivers lined up for the event and with a return loop via public roads. Congratulations to overall winner Mike Tall, Chris Herdman winner of class 1 (0-1300cc), Garry Cowan winner of class 2 (1301-1600cc), Deane Buist winner of class 3 (1601+cc) and David Clearwater winner of class 4 (4WD).
For 2015 it was run as a “rally sprint” so drivers had to carry a passenger. Thanks to local community who agreed to let us play on their road and they put on some great fund-raising food for the Glentunnel School.
