One of our favourite twisty roads and steep gravel sprints with a fast finish all in 2.5km of great Canterbury gravel. Situated by the Rakaia gorge this road is always fun and has some cool banked corners.
Congratulations to Mike Tall (Mirage) for winning overall by just 0.01 seconds from Garet Thomas (WRX) on the final run. Sean Haggerty (WRX) was charging hard to lead the pack on the first two runs but missed out on the win by 1.7 seconds.
Well done to our class winners 0-1300cc Class 1 Jeff Judd (Starlet), 1301-1600cc Class 2 Dean Johnston (Starlet), 1601+cc Class 3 Robert “Groove” McCallum (Escort).
For 2019 quadbikes from the Canterbury ATV Association raced in front of the rally cars and made an interesting comparison. Fastest quad was Steve Avery on a TRX 250.
