DESCRIPTION:Congratulations to Mike Tall for winning the last time event which he won on the last run in a tight battle with a few others!\nAn old favorite Rakaia Zig Zag Gravel Sprint is coming up on the Sunday 23rd April 2023\, with a slight change due to some requirements so finishing a little earlier than we have in the past offering a chance for a new record to be set.  \nIt’s approximately 2 km of  gravel public road flowing on a hard base on the steep country side right by the Rakaia river.  \n\nWe are at maximum capacity with 50 drivers confirmed this Sunday April 23rd the Rakaia Zig Zag Rd Gravel Sprint with some drivers on the waitlist.\n\n\nPlease contact us ASAP if you need to withdraw so we can let someone on the waitlist to go racing.\n\n\nA reminder\, documentation starts at 8:30am.\n\n\n \n\n\nEnjoy seeing all sorts of cars and quad bikes race up one of our old favourite gravel roads.\n\n\nRacing starts from around 11am.\n \n\n\nThanks to the Selwyn District Council\, local residents\, volunteers and supporters who have made this event possible.\n\n \n \nGoogle Map \n \nHighlighted Purple is the service area\nHighlighted Yellow is the spectator area \nDirections:  Directions – From Hororata township travel west on Cordys until reaching State Highway 77. Turn left onto State Highway 77 and travel 6.1 kilometers and turn right immediately before Rakaia Gorge bridge onto Zig Zag Road. Travel approximately 700 meters\, then turn right into the service area. \nGoogle Map Directions \nClasses: Vehicles will be divided into the following classes: \nClass A: 2WD 0-1300cc\nClass B: 2WD 1301-1600cc\nClass C: 2WD 1601+cc\nClass D: 4WD\nClass XC: Cross Cars (eligible for class placing but not overall placing) \nOpening and Closing Dates: \nEntries open with the publication of these regulations and close at 5pm Friday 21st April 2023. \nEntry Fees: \n$120.00 including GST per competitor.
