SUMMARY:Event 4 - Lone Star Rally of Canterbury 2025
DESCRIPTION:Mike Tall winner of 2024 Rally \n \nThe Lone Star Rally of Canterbury 2025 will be held on Sunday 1st June as part of the New Zealand Rally Championship and based on North Canterbury. \nApprox 140km of stages awaits the competitors after the Ceremonial Start at Lone Star Restaurant Manchester Street on Saturday afternoon before heading north on Sunday Morning including the infamous Forest Stage Mt Grey road run both uphill in the morning and downhill in the afternoon through Ashley Forest\, popular North Canterbury public roads such as Happy Valley Rd\, Onepunga Rd and Ram Paddock Rd and following last years hugely popular spectator stage to finish the rally a multi-lap blast round Euromarque Motorsport Park (Ruapuna Raceway) before Finishing again at Lone Star Restaurant Manchester Street. \nDocumentation – Saturday 31 May from 7:30 at Joe’s Garage Rangiora followed by recce. For those not doing recce 13:00 – 15:00 at Rubber Developments Ltd \nCeremonial start in Eaton Place outside Lone Star Manchester St from 17:00 \n\nSunday 1st of June – car 1 leaves Joe’s Garage Rangiora at 7:30 and tours to Ashley Forest. SS1 uses the full length of Mt Grey Rd at 14.21 km and starts at 8:10. The road was hard and swept this morning\, but no guarantees come rally day – you never know what the forestry people will do! Tour to Amberley for a 20-minute service in the Countdown supermarket car park. \nSS2\, Happy Valley Rd which starts at the Motunau beach end at 9:46 and is 18.43 km looping back to Motunau Beach Rd via Glendhu Rd. This is great piece of road not used for many years. Then a tour up SH1 with a remote refuel\, over the Hurunui bridge turning immediately left into Ethelton Rd for \nSS3\, Kaiwara/Eggelston Rds at 29.89 km\, starting at 10:34. Lovely flowing piece of road and quite fast in places. \nSS4 This is followed by a short tour to Sinclair Rd starting at 11:10. Although short at 4.43 km and quite tight it does flow really well but is quite technical. Next is a tour into Cheviot for service 2\, with a 30 minute allowance. \nSS5 is Nape Nape/Glendhu at 19.82 km\, starting at 12:14 and comes back out onto Motunau Beach Rd again. There is a 50 km tour through Greta Valley and Scargill to \nSS6\, Heathstock/Ram Paddock Rds at 22.90 km which starts at 13:14. It ends near Broomfield for service 3 which is 20 minutes. \nSS7 This is followed by the short Onepunga Rd at 6.20 km being SS7 at 14:23. \nThen back into Ashley Forest for SS8 at 14:53\, Mt Grey down at 14.21 km which is SS1 in the opposite direction. The stage ends at noters corner (the uphill of the Ashley Forest Rallysprint). \nFinally\, a tour to Euromarque Ruapuna Raceway for the 13.92 km SS9 starting at 16:10. There is a tyre and refuel only opportunity before the start and gravel tyres must be used.\nThen the tour back to Lone Star\, Manchester Street for the ceremonial finish with the first car due at 17:00. Dinner and prize giving is in the restaurant starting around 20:30.   \n\nA reminder to anyone with Lone Star and/or Joe’s Garage vouchers from last year that these need to be redeemed by the end of May before they expire \nEntry List – 2025 Rally Entrant List \n  \nEntries are open now\, and close at 5pm on Wednesday 21st May 2025 \nRegulations                                          – Rally_of_Canterbury_Regs_2025 \nEntries via MotorSport Online system – https://online.motorsport.org.nz/msnzprofile/login \nOrder notes via Allports                       – https://www.allports.nz/ \nItinerary                                                   – 2025 Itinerary \n \n  \n\n \nGoogle Map Link – Locations for Rally

SUMMARY:6 June - Canterbury Rally
DESCRIPTION:Regs and Entry Form are now out for the 2021 Lone Star Canterbury Rally. Teams will be racing on 134 kms of special stages on forestry and public gravel roads. The rally will begin with a ceremonial start on Saturday 5th June. First car starts from Joe’s Garage\, Alfred St\, Rangiora at approximately 8:30am on Sunday 6th June. First car finished approximately 6pm on Sunday 6th June at Lone Star\, Manchester St\, Christchurch. \n \n\nSpectator points including the Ceremonial start\, Sunday Start\, Service Parks\, Spectator Points and Finish \nThe rally consists of seven special stages\, the first and last ones being in the Ashley Forest. All other stages are on public roads in North Canterbury that have been closed for the event. \nStage 2 starts on Happy Valley Rd close to Motunau Beach and runs north on Happy Valley\, Stonyhurst and Blythe roads to finish at Nape Nape Rd. The stage has brows\, sweeping curves and some tight technical stuff. With the dry weather that we have been experiencing these roads are hard and fast and the stage is said to be one of the best public road rally stage available in NZ and at 28.4km is the second longest in the rally. There is a spectator point on the corner of Blythe and Stonyhurst Rd’s \nStage 3\, at 4.2km is the shortest in the rally. It uses Sinclair Rd just north of Cheviot and while it’s short\, is full of interest and will keep the drivers on their toes. \nStage 4 sweeps down the Leamington Valley and at 29.8km is the rally’s longest. Like stage 2\, it packs in all the conditions to make it a fantastic stage. Once again\, the roads are dry\, hard and fast and record times for this classic stage are more than likely. Stage encompasses Leamington\, Eggleston and Kaiwara roads. Spectator point on the corner of Leamington and Downs Rd’s \nStage 5 starts on Greys Rd Waikari and utilizes Greys\, Heathstock\, MacDonald Downs and Ram Paddock roads to finish in the Broomfield area. Stage 5 is 22.5km long and is sure to test the competitors with its varying conditions\, Spectator point on the corner of Broxton and MacDonald Downs Rd’s \nStage 6 is the classic Onepunga Stage. It has featured in many Canterbury Rallies over the years and although it’s only a little over 6km long it’s a firm favorite among rally crews \nAnd that takes us back into the Ashley Forest for the final stage \n \nWant to get close to the cars and crews? Plenty of opportunities. \n\nCeremonial Start at Lone Start Restaurant\, 5pm Sat 5th June\nRally Start at Joes Garage\, Alfred St Rangiora\, 0830am Sun 6th June\nService 1 at “Countdown” car park Amberley from approx. 9.15am until approx. 10:30 am\nService 2\, Rolleston St Cheviot from approx. 11:15am through to approx. 13:30\nService 3\, Princess St Waikari from approx. 1:30pm to approx. 2:45pm\nFirst car is expected to finish at the Lone Star Restaurant approx. 5:00pm\n\nCome out\, grab some food and get a close-up look at the service crews preparing the cars for the next special stage \nHard copies of the spectator guide will be available from all our sponsors and Cheviot Tearooms soon \nEntries are open now and close 5pm Friday 21st May 2021. SUMMARY:Canterbury Rally\, Mainland Rally Series
DESCRIPTION:Click the link below to get the latest news on the rally. \nhttps://autosport.org.nz/2020/07/27/25-oct-lone-star-rally-of-canterbury/ \n  \n*NOTE* Date changed to October 24/25 \nDuring this current difficult time with COVID-19 to secure an alternative date due to the likely postponement of the Canterbury Rally we have changed the date to October 24/25. Labour day public holiday is the following day. For many reasons this is the only weekend possible for us to hold this event and this early change will allow us to give it the best chance of success. \nWe will announce more information when we know more. Hope to see you there! \nWe urge everyone to look after each other in this difficult\, somewhat strange time\, reach out to each other\, keep in touch and carry on as best as possible. Let’s get through this and keep up the discipline of good personal hygiene. \nIf you have any questions please contact our secretary for the rally\, Leanne Jolly kljolly01@gmail.com
